What a little gem this place is. We wanted somewhere near to Cambridge for dinner on Thursday and also near to Newmarket for racing and music on the Friday.
This place was perfect. From the moment we checked in we knew we’d found something a bit special. A lovely warm welcome. The room was perfect.
Leo behind the bar needs a special mention. He’s an absolute credit to the hotel and looked after us brilliantly.
Thank you. We will definitely be back.

My daughter and I went as an end of gcse treat we don’t often stay in hotels so it was a huge treat and our main draw was the spa. Positives it looks pretty from the outside. Staff were pleasant not overly friendly. We stayed in one of the rooms outside of the hotel, it was definitely not luxurious at all more premier inn. Room was tidy but dated aircon was good however it was all a bit cheap. I would have expected a plunger or coffee bags and fresh milk rather than nescafé sachets and uht milk, Television no extras just basic channels. also you need to pay £10.50 a day to park which when you are paying £150 a night it seems very penny pinching on the hotels part. All would have been forgiven if the spa was nice, hot tub out of order and apparently according to reviews had been for months. Pool while pleasant but no one was checking it and there were dead flies on the side and an old plaster. I paid £170 for an hour long massage for my daughter and I with a girl who while very pleasant had obviously not been trained as a masseuse and we were both very disappointed. I have requested a refund I will update. I can’t comment on food as it seemed expensive so we ate in Cambridge. When we checked out they did not ask wether we enjoyed our stay which I thought was strange. Our room did not smell but the corridor outside our room was very smelly.

We booked a long weekend stay with the idea that we did not want to stay in Cambridge itself. Overall, good value for money. We stayed in a Superior Room which had a private patio attached to it. Nice. Friendly and helpful staff. An exceptionally nice indoor pool complete with good view of the surrounding countryside. The restaurant is also highly rated. One thing that is slightly off putting is a daily parking charge of £10.00.
