Dovecliff Hall Hotel

We stayed 2 nights in this lovely hotel as we wanted to visit the National Arboretum and several National Trust properties nearby. The building is fascinating as is its history. Rooms are comfortable with large king size beds. Plumbing is a little eccentric but we coped. All the staff were excellent- a lovely mix of efficiency and warmth. The food is of an excellent standard - equal to Michelin starred restaurants. Go - you won’t be disappointed.

Lunch today in this beautiful setting. The food was excellent 5* Service was first class. Shame not a lot of people use this hidden gem.

We decided to go somewhere weekend city break, we found Doverclift just outside the city off Burton Trent , located on the dove river and middle of fields. Staff are very friendly and helpful we had a afternoon tea and breakfast it was nice overall all good maybe we will go back again.
