Hilton At St George's Park

Lovely rural location,beautiful grounds and hotel facilities. Excellent choice for breakfast and evening menu. Cannot fault the Staff, always smiling and asking if you need any further assistance. Ange on reception went above and beyond to accommodate our stay, making our anniversary celebration a very memorable occasion.

Feedback as per online review...receptionist on arrival was miserable and clearly didn't want to be there. Bar staff seemed clueless about the drinks, food, set up for the world cup quarter final. Other staff again seemed clueless. Generally, the staff quality has done down hill badly since we first started using this hotel some 10 years ago. The room was ok but the bed was very firm and we both had an awful nights sleep. The shower wasn't clean either. We had a king deluxe yet there was no water in the room despite temperatures of 80 degrees. The tea and coffee offering was the same as the Travel Inn (no Nespresso or fresh milk). No biscuits either. Then, the fridge wasn't working, again despite the hot weather. All in all, this hotel has deteriorated a lot over the years. Very disappointed.

I travelled to the hotel by train from Birmingham Airport and returned to the Airport by taxi, which worked very well. The hotel is around 10 minutes by taxi from Burton upon Trent railway station and approximately 40 minutes from Birmingham Airport, making it easy to reach while still enjoying a peaceful countryside setting. Check in was quick and friendly, and I was allocated a lovely room with a fantastic view across the surrounding countryside and balcony area outside the breakfast restaurant. The room was clean, comfortable and exactly what I needed for my two night stay while attending an industry event. Breakfast was very good on both mornings, with plenty of choice, and the hospitality team were welcoming, and professional throughout my stay. Soccer isn't really my interest, but for anyone who is a fan of the game, this hotel is definitely worth a visit. As the home of England's national soccer teams, there are plenty of interesting displays and memorabilia throughout the hotel and the wider St George's Park complex. Overall, it's an very nice hotel with great facilities, friendly staff and a unique setting. I would happily stay here again should the opportunity arise.
