MERCURE SWANSEA HOTEL

Avoid...if your offered room 215 or the store cupboard as we called it, run away. Absolutely filthy box room, torn nets, poor upkeep of and i think the main light switches were installed by an electrician from down under...light switch down was off and light switch up was on🤷🏻‍♂️

Staff were friendly and we were greeted with a smile. The reception had a strong damp smell that continued up the corridors and into our room. The room is extremely dated and dirty. There were stains on both chairs in the room, bathroom was falling apart and unclean, with a clump of hair on the floor next to the bath. The beds were clean and comfortable. Our bedroom door lock was also faulty so we did not feel the most secure. The curtains were dirty and had holes in them. Left feeling like I needed another shower.

Stayed for a couple of nights during very hot weather. Room though quite spacious with a comfy bed , was very warm with only a fan working constantly. If this hotel were to install fly screens on the room sliding windows, it would help cool the room by allowing a cooler air flow to circulate.......just a suggestion. Bathroom let the room down as needed an up grade. Sink had a crack and shower was not very easy to use , also toilet was hard to flush. Apart from the above we had a nice stay , rooms were clean and the Breakfast was very good. All staff we met were friendly and welcoming. Would stay again , although maybe not in hot weather !.
