Dragon Hotel

I came to the dragon hotel on a business trip. Positives Friendly staff Great location, everything is within walking distance Room was clean. Negatives Hotel is very dated and run down in places Lifts are very small and only one was working Cooked breakfast was awful, cheap ingredients and coffee machine wasn't working.

We stayed for one night. We were scheduled to go out for the evening so time was limited. If that hadn't been the case we would have complained about our room and requested a move. Allocated a family room on second floor (for a couple). carpet very stained and uneven.air conditioning not working.shower not fully functional. Toilet roll holder situated so far away from the toilet it was impossible to reach. Overall the room and corridors seem very dated. We paid for breakfast which was of a good standard and in a light and airy room

This is a poor example of accommodation to be found in Swansea. Despite it's great location, the hotel is run down and grubby. The frontage appears to be having a refit but the inside will have you disappointed as soon as you enter. The staff appeared welcoming and friendly and seem to be doing their best with what they have but are let down by the deteriorating building and furnishings. Disappointed to pay £10 per night for parking in their unsecured car park. My room was grubby and stained in various places with a noticeable trip hazard due to loose carpet. Stains around the sink and extractor not working. Declined to dine there as the attached brasserie looked a bit glum and expensive. Lots of better places to eat close by. Breakfast was the one saving grace which was freshly cooked and politely served. There is better value to be had close by and I regret not researching my choices before I booked to stay here. I cannot recommend staying here.
