Village

Revisited the hotel from 2025. A bit of a mix up at check in but got there eventually. Allocated room 300 and 301. Room 301, a double was perfect, room 300 air con was flashing faulty. but paid for a twin and got a double double room.. Was a warm stay, with a tower fan wafting the stuffy air around and another fan. So the hotel new it was a problem room. Did we complain, no, how many hotels have maintenance at weekends to fix espicially when they already new. Friendly staff at the bar, buffet breakfast and in the starbucks. Last year we had to leave our belongings in a open locker, as you you needed to bring your own lock!! Which was very odd compared to village hotel Bournemouth. The hotel seems to have changed this after buying a lock for this visit for our visit. You are now issued with a towel and a wristband at the leisure reception. Which is fantastic news, but cannot see this info anywhere on their hotel website. We love visiting the village hotels, it ticks all the boxes. But got let down by the lack of air con in room this time.

Friendly staff, appealing hotel and nice comfortable room. I did pay for the discounted breakfast when I checked in for £12.50 - this was a bit pricey for what was on offer. Found out they had charged me £17.50 when I got home, but I did e-mail them, and they refunded the £5 next day without any question, so good customer service there.

I booked a club room on 5th floor that was ok but basic . I was surprised that despite staying two nights I was only allowed coffee pods and a tin of water for one night , also bed will not be made during stay . We did request a room refresh but grumpy man on reception advised this only included towels . My advise if staying multiple nights would be to do multiple bookings . I never ate on site because bar area was a war zone early evening with tables covered in dirty plates and cutlery . The bar took a while to get served and ran out of wine glasses so had a drink of wine in a half pint glass. My overall impression that the hotel and staff will do the absolute minimum they have to do to get through your stay. A good location and pool facility very good.
