Avonpark House

I much enjoyed my recent stay at Avonpark House. Martin and Maria run things really well .Everywhere is clean and tidy ,and the breakfast is really good with a wide choice. There is space to park one’s car and it is possible to walk into Stratford easily. I always stay here when I go to RSC productions and I much appreciate how improvements are being made to an already excellent guest house.

Good location to walk into the centre of Stratford upon Avon. Also good that off street car parking was available. Room 4 at the back was very quiet. The room was dated, clean but needs a refurb. There was no ramp for me to get my motorised wheelchair into the building so my wife and I had to pull it up the steps into the entrance foyer. The breakfast had to be ordered the night before and the dining room was clean and modern with plenty of choice of cereals etc for a continental breakfast. Unfortunately when it came to cooked breakfasts we found the standard of ingredients and cooking very poor. Our first cooked breakfast was poorly cooked but I ate it, the second cooked breakfast of kippers was inedible. they were the type you get in a bag. The kipper taste came from the dye, certainly not smoked kippers. The poached eggs were wet, I couldn't eat it. My wife couldn't eat the first days cooked breakfast and stuck to cereal and toast for the remainder of the stay. We didn't stay for the final day we'd booked for. My advice for the owners would be to employ a cook to provide the breakfasts. This by far was the best positioned guest house but was let down by the worst cooked breakfasts that I have ever had. I fail to understand how so many guests have complimented the cooked breakfasts on the reviews which totally misled us on our choice of accommodation.

Absolutely Fantastic Stay – A Perfect 10/10! Everything about our recent stay at “Avonpark House” in Stratford-upon-Avon was absolutely fantastic. From the very moment we arrived, the hosts, Maria and Martin, made us feel incredibly welcome with their warm hospitality and helpful recommendations for exploring the local area. Our guest room was beautifully decorated, exceptionally quiet, and spotlessly clean. The bed was so remarkably comfortable that it made waking up quite a challenge! We also loved the convenience of the location. Having free off-road parking on-site meant we could safely leave the car behind and take the lovely, scenic 10-minute walk along the Old Tramway path right into the heart of town and straight to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Breakfast each morning was a highlight of its own. The freshly cooked-to-order options—including perfectly prepared English breakfasts and excellent salmon and eggs—were delicious and served alongside a wonderful selection of fresh fruit, yoghurts, and cereals. The attention to detail and genuine care provided by the hosts truly sets this beautiful B&B apart. We had a flawless experience and will definitely be staying here again on our next visit to Stratford! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a perfect getaway. Also we had an extra special bonus on our visit was watching the Eclipse in front of Shakespeare Theatre.
