This hotel is tucked away from the busy area around the main art gallery, so rear facing rooms in particular are quiet. It's a popular hotel with business guests during the week, always a good sign. My top/6th floor room gave me great views of the stunning sunsets. Allow around 10/15 minutes for the walk to/from New Street railway station. Several bus routes pick up nearby. The breakfast was well set out, always well stocked and of a good quality. No evening meals though. The wonderful Shakespeare pub next door offers a great menu catering to all budgets. The wi-fi connection in my bedroom was very difficult to trace then cling on to - boosters are needed for those rooms furthest from Reception. My bed creaked when getting in and out and was slightly lop sided. The bathroom tap design makes it tricky to switch from cold to hot without soaking everything. All in all I was very pleased with my stay and I would certainly include this hotel on my shortlist for future stays in Birmingham.

Arriving in B'ham for the cricket finals we were limited to hotel rooms.
Unfortunately this is a poor Ibis. I appreciate we wouldn't normally stay at this sort of hotel but you do expect it to be clean. It wasn't.
The rooms are smelly, dirty and neglected. Paint peeling from walls and skirting and dubious residues on the carpet - do not walk barefoot.
Beds are large but are topped and on old bases/mattresses which makes for an uncomfortable night along with ineffective and very noisy aircon which didn't cool the room. Windows cannot be opened.
There is a basic set up of no safe (online it says there is one) and a work surface that is your wardrobe/desk/drawers. No fridge or ice machine (that is only in reception).
Breakfast must be avoided at all costs. Cheap and very low quality ingredients. Poor choice, dirty cutlery and crockery. Even at first service it was inedible and cold.
Plentiful parking and one or two nice members of staff.
Even if you are desperately in need of a bed, don't stay here.

Two adults stayed for two nights. Had a double room with queen bed. Perfect location. Very central, close to train station and attractions such as Birmingham museum & art gallery. Breakfast was simple, but very good with gluten and lactose-free options as well as many different kinds of fresh fruit. Nice coffee. The bed was wide and comfortable and had comfortable double pillows. The room was very clean. The bathroom was fresh, but smelled strongly of moisture when we arrived. The smell disappeared after we put on the air conditioner. Carpeted floor. Hair dryer and iron. No refrigerator. The hotel had shampoo and soap in the bathroom. There was a kettle and coffee/tea in the room. Free coffee and tea and juices could be enjoyed at the reception. There was an ice machine and a free time shifter. The staff were friendly, smiling and helpful. Nice hotel in a central location.
