I have never had to complain about a budget hotel (or any hotel before) but honestly, I’ve been left mortified. This place was beyond vile.
It is absolutely, disgustingly filthy. If I wasn’t arriving late with a toddler and had a spare £85 I would have found somewhere else to stay but I had already paid.
I wasn’t expecting much for a £50 room, but I did expect it to be clean.
The floors weren’t even hoovered and covered in bits and dried on mud. The bedding was stained and thank god there were bunk beds with spare bedding on. The toilet wasn’t even flushed. There was dust and ‘bits’ EVERYWHERE.
There were drunk (and smell of drugs) men hanging around chatting outside and in lobby.
There were men walking around the corridors in PJs/one just had boxers on, going into a room that was open with a microwave which stank the entire corridor out of rotten fish (presume a communal room). There was a room with women’s shoes outside with the door slightly open - with many visitors going to and from the room and another vile odour when slightly walking past.
This hotel not be selling rooms to the general public, as this is clearly hotel is used as a homeless residence or a prison half way house.
I have never felt unsafe at ANY hotel in the world (and my work has required me to spend time in many unpopular countries) - Until last night. I was genuinely nervous and felt unsafe. I used my suitcases as door handle blockers - no proper lock - and I know it wouldn’t do much but felt I needed to.
The gentleman on reception was lovely and did offer to help walk to the room with me and to my car. Thank god for him! But demonstrated he knew what a sh*thole it was.
I booked on the main website and didn’t bother to read reviews as I would never have imagined a hotel, selling rooms to the general public, would be like this!!
This hotel is not suitable for ANYONE THAT IS PAYING FOR A HOTEL!!

after reading reviews about this place I decided to cancel my bookings with them for later this month, my son is poorly so was unable to go anyway , after cancelling my booking I tried ringing them to get confirmation on the cancellation and a man answered the phone very abruptly, I asked to speak to the woman receptionist I had spoken to earlier in the morning, he replied no then hung up on me. I think this man who didn't identify himself was very rude and I am so pleased I followed the reviews and cancelled this hotel. I hope people read the reviews themselves and DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL

Most ghetto hotel I've ever been to. I wouldn't recommend this hotel it's reminiscent of a film set straight from a horror movie. The exterior is very rundown and shabby. The place seemed deserted during my stay which based on other reviews was probably a good thing. Upon entering my "chamber" a few dim lights illuminated the very dark, very dingy room. The bathroom was dated and creepy with its single dim yet buzzing light bulb. The old and stained carpet gave of a musty fragrance whilst everything in the room was old and worn out. The interior design reminded me of the hotel from the shinning. The corridors smelt of cannabis and something else decidedly less pleasant. The corridors are separated from the stairway a set of odd heavy duty metal doors making the place feel like a prison or some other non voluntary institution. The old free standing fridge, stained and shabby furniture and creepy bathroom gives the place a rundown apartment/crack den vibe. The lobby doors are locked at 10pm so you can't get back in since there is no key access only a buzzer but no one on reception to answer. I almost spent the night outside fortunately a door to the rear was left ajar and I got back in. I wouldn't stay here again. Place is very run down and dingy. I'm going to be balanced and say one positive thing is that it was very cheap and the two staff members I spoke to were polite.
