Alexandra Hotel

Well-located hotel, on the edge of Hyde Park, otherwise a dated establishment, cold reception with no comments, room overlooking a courtyard and the latter was littered with trash on the ground, a safe placed directly on the floor, zero soundproofing, conversations from neighboring rooms until 1:00 a.m., slamming doors day and night, very small room, no air conditioning, only a fan with a dusty grille, hanging on the wall, very cramped bathroom….. Minimalist breakfast served in a noisy basement. Run away, for us 2 nights without sleeping??!! Not recommended

Complained about ants in our room got moved room to top floor no help with luggage then got moved again to another room, manager is no help at all, his reply to the ants in the room was they do not cause discomfort

Great location near Paddington station. Older hotel but has all needed items including fan as no AC, hair dryer, body wash / shampoo in showers. Biggest problem was hotel is devided into 2 sections with 2 lifts and the one lift to our room was broken. So had to climb 6 flights of stairs with large suitcases! We asked for a room on side with working lift and had to take a very much smaller room. Our concerns were met with customer blaming that we should have specified that we had "special needs"ie not walking up six flights of stairs to get to our room even though hotel advertisement reports hotel has lifts available!
