Aquarius Hotel

Location great, nice people, clean comfy beds. All good and fair prices.

Room 20 is the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. The staircase carpet on the way up is worn and filthy. The bannister detached from its bracket and risks serious injury. In the room the window is cracked, detached from its safety stay and the handle detached. The furniture is decrepit, missing handles and hangers. The basin has a dripping hot tap which has clearly been dripping for months if not years. In the bathroom the window furniture is missing. The shower was filthy and is dangerous. It is a good 30cm above floor level, and lacks any grab handles to aid exiting. It would, I consider, be assessed as a slip hazard under Health and Safety legislation. There was no coffee provision. I paid nearly £80 for this room through Booking.com and I consider they should give me a refund. It is appalling that tourists might think this is typical of the UK!

Dreadful, avoid at all cost. Filthy dirty, and run by inexperienced staff.
