Balmoral House Hotel

Please be aware if you stay here . We arrived and was informed by a guy painting outside we had to go over the road to check in which we did . Wanted photo id of us which it did not state when booked (through booking.com). Was given our room No 14 up 6 flights of stairs. Once in the room which was extremely uncomfortable due to very warm weather. We had 2 upright fans one worked ok one didn’t work all that well . We then went to the concert and left fans on while out . On return the room was like an oven on gas mark 10 . We could not sleep as was so hot ,we was out side on the steps while early hour as could not sleep . Tried to contact reception as on door in room said 24 hours but no one answered . We also made a coffee while there to find the little cartons of milk was out of date (17-05-26)as looked cracked when poured in coffee.(we was there on the 27-06-26) When we went to check out we showed evidence of out of date milk and was told well it’s very warm at the moment and we said No it’s out of date an he really wasn’t interested at all. We also said we tried to call reception for extra fans as was so hot up in the room . His reply was oh they finish at 11pm so we said it says on the door 24 hours for reception and he shrugged again not interested,so told him to amend the sign and he just smiled . Please do Not stay in room 14 on a hot day as it’s unbearable…

Unfortunately, we made a mistake with our reservation dates, but we did not receive any helpful support from the reception staff. The older gentleman wearing glasses did not inform us that it might have been possible to change the booking for a relatively small fee or even at no additional cost. As a result, we had to purchase an additional room, which significantly increased our expenses. When we explained that it was simply an honest mistake, his response, “See you next year,” was delivered in an arrogant and dismissive manner, which felt unprofessional and unkind. A more understanding and solution-oriented approach would have been greatly appreciated. On a positive note, the hotel was very clean, and the housekeeping standards were excellent. Good breakfast.

Good choice well located. The reception was good. My room was comfortable and clean. It had a hairdryer, a good light table, a trash can, a chair, fan, mirror (not full length), electric kettle with coffee, tea and so on. The bed was comfortable. Luckily I had a telephone to communicate, because my room was on a high floor and opposite the reception (across the street). The bathroom had everything (a good place to support my things, sink, toilet, etc.) but shower; to shower I had on the same floor a bathroom well complete and provided, clean and in perfect condition, just for me (no other room could use it). In this bathroom there was a toilet, amenities, a table, a trash can and of course the shower. Breakfast was brought to the table and contained: 2 fried eggs on a lactal bread and a bacon slice, Toast with butter and sweet blueberries, peach and orange, A crescent and infusion of choice and beans with toco (I did not like the taste of the toco, but the beans were rich). The only bad thing I can say about everything, was the attention at breakfast, I didn't like it at all, I felt very uncomfortable. Unless that, I'm absolutely happy with everything.
