Would not recommend this hotel. 4 Star, more like 2 star at very best.
Rooms need updating, paint peeling, extension leads everywhere, furniture rickety, noise from the staff room/kitchen next door, outside our ground floor window it was dark and dingy and looks like a junk yard with a jungle growing, nettles and thistles three foot high, what a view.!
I have to admit I was concerned about leaving my car there that it would still be in one piece in the morning,! In its favour the room looked clean and at a fair price.
Needless to say we will not be returning.

I stayed here on two different occasions in February. I like older character properties so normally I'd like a place like this.
The positive aspect was the front desk man, Oussama, who was very welcoming.
First time I stayed was in a so-called 'deluxe double' room. It was a decent size but everything was badly in need of updating. Everything in the room was ancient; the shower needed deep cleaning, and the bed itself was like a marshmallow - no support whatsoever.
The second time I had a single room, which was not relaxing due to being really small. No room for anything except sitting or lying on the bed.
I stopped by the nearby pub, New Moon, a very local place full of billard tables and darts where they inexplicably charge 5 quid for a coke.
But the night I was there, a atering company was doing hot dogs and hamburgers for £4 (they do this only when the local football club is in town).
The Barrington might suffice if you need an inexpensive place to stay and you are aware of the drawbacks.
Do not under any circustances park on the road outside the hotel.
