Hallam Hotel

Stayed there for a couple of nights back in May 2017. Maybe the worst 3 hotel nights in my life. Awful breakfast, dirty carpets, rooms like cells and absent staff. Bathroom really dirty with a lot of broken tiles. Highly NOT RECOMMENDED for anyone. Pay a little more money to stay elsewhere. Elevator was disfuctional , if wanted to go 5th floor, it stopped at 4th.....

Hallam is literally 5 minutes’ walk from the middle of Oxford Street behind Topshop, this alone made the price all the more surprising! The receptionist was lovely when I stayed in September he gave me an upgrade from my single room to a slightly larger one on the top floor. It’s a family run business and has such a friendly atmosphere, just little touches like having extra towels and bits outside the rooms for guests to help themselves was really nice, There were no noisy or inconsiderate guests like you get in bigger hotels and I had a fantastic nights sleep. A bit of traffic is expected (it’s behind Oxford street!) but there was clearly soundproofing so I couldn’t hear it. I agree with other reviewers, if the decor bothers you, go and find a pricier hotel. Personally I thought it had everything you need in a basic hotel - shower, en-suite, hairdryer, tea/coffee, TV, and the location is absolutely perfect

We becoming regulars having lunch or dinners. The food is great and the portion sizes are very big. The he staff are all very friendly and you don’t wait a long time to be served. We are return customers and loving it!
