Menzies Flitwick Manor

On arrival our superior double booking was downgraded without explanation to a very shabby, grubby double. When we queried this and showed them our booking confirmation, they had no explanation and said that no other rooms were available (we were later told that this was incorrect and that other rooms were available). I would love to have an apology and explanation for this terrible treatment. The dinning room and food were very good.

In order to attend a family funeral we chose Flitwick Manor as it 'appeared' to be the most decent 4* hotel in the vicinity. We stayed 2 nights in what must be the most disgusting room we have had in any hotel (and we are seasoned national& international travellers). The room was poorly maintained, dirty and badly serviced. Upon checking in it was immediately evident to us that this room(17) was unsatisfactory but no alternative could be offered (nor when we reapplied the following morning - 'fully booked'). I attempted to speak with the manager upon checking out but she was 'not available' and the Receptionist promised that the manager would call me later in the day - she never did and it took her 4 days to make contact and even then only by e mail. To add 'insult to injury' she clamed that the price paid for the room was commensurate with the value we had! What planet does she live on? I contacted the credit card company which has upheld my views in the light of detail submitted to them. I have since released the amount I was prepared to pay not what Flitwick Manager originally charged. The behaviour of the manager was a disgrace - the rest of the staff were very good

Birthday celebration and it was excellent a hidden gem Al fresco dinner with amazing view. Service was attentive and friendly but professional food stunning large portions couldn’t eat it all. Cooked to perfection crab and prawn Bon Bon starter rump of lamb main with dauphinois potatoes and an assortment of different vegetables in a wonderful lunch rich sauce. Surprise complimentary birthday dessert.
