Royal Garden

A fantastic hotel with great facilities and excellent staff. The manager Kieran made it an exceptional stay, all the staff went above and beyond to help us. Great location, was very easy to get everywhere needed. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had.

We stayed here for four nights as part of a Wimbledon package. We were a little worried our room across from the elevators would be noisy, but it was not. The hotel is in a great location and we had a park view so we did not hear much noise from the street. The breakfast was also wonderful, with a large selection. There were two main negatives, which might have been just our particular room. One was we kept shorting out the electric by plugging the kettle into the outlet near the desk. We did not know this was a problem until the third maintenance person hold us not to do that. The kettle was stored in the closet (?) and they wanted you to plug it in there which seemed a horrible idea as our clothes were hanging on top of it. Just a small rant but why haven't hotels in Europe and the UK figured out how to let you dry your hair in the bathroom? All American hotels have outlets there? I had to plug the hairdryer into a lower wall plug and there was no mirror. This wasn't just the Royal Garden, but other hotels we stayed at in the UK. The other problem was the very awkward stairs up to the sitting area. It was not just one step, but small one inside a larger step. It was a fall risk.

Just returned from a two night stay Hotel was easy to find, about a 5 minute walk from the nearest tube station Check in ok we stayed in Room 710 on the 7th floor Room was nipping clean, fantastic views of Kensington Gardens, a comfortable bed and modern TV There was a strange smell from the hotel corridor on level 7 with no air conditioning which made it so hot and air fresheners would be an easy fix. We found Breakfast chaotic, shown to a table by a none engaging female, who didn't look like she wanted to be there, a waiter asked us for any hot drinks, no mention of any cooked eggs or a menu of what's on offer? Staff also also very slow in clearing tables making the dining room look messy, I expected more from a five star hotel. The cooked breakfast items were fresh and a good temperature with plenty of choice. Check out was yet not none engaging from the staff Did we have a nice stay? Everything ok? When we'll get our £100 deposit back? None of this from the receptionist. However the concierge did keep our suitcases for the day, which was very appreciated. We would return.
