The Beaufort Knightsbridge

I have stayed at The Beaufort for years because the location, right next to Harrods, is excellent. Unfortunately, this will be my last stay. The hotel is falling into disrepair. While it still has its charming character, there is a huge difference between being “traditional” and simply being poorly maintained. The building is crying out for investment. During my stay I encountered broken bathroom door handles, a cracked toilet seat, leaking and yellow-stained ceilings, and other obvious signs of neglect. These are not the standards I would expect from a 4-star hotel. The most concerning incident was when the bathroom door handle came off completely, leaving me trapped inside the bathroom. I immediately contacted reception, only to be told there was no maintenance engineer available because it was the weekend, no manager on site, and no alternative rooms available. I was effectively left with no solution. I had booked a two-night stay but wanted to leave the following morning because I no longer felt comfortable staying there. Again, I was told there was no manager available to authorise a cancellation or discuss a refund. The lack of customer care was just as disappointing as the condition of the hotel. Calls were abruptly ended whenever I tried to raise concerns, leaving me feeling completely unsupported. Despite providing photographs and videos of the room, Isabella refused to offer any compensation for what had happened. Even the small details advertised were misleading. The hotel advertises a complimentary welcome tray with a scone, but when I called to request it, I was told it was not available. That wasn’t my main concern, but it reflects the wider issue of promises not being delivered. The housekeeping staff work hard, but from around 9am the noise throughout the hotel is extremely disruptive, with constant banging and crashing from cleaning activities. Guests pay for a peaceful stay, yet it was impossible to relax or sleep. This hotel has enormous potential. It has a wonderful location and plenty of character, but charm should never come at the expense of safety or basic maintenance. It feels as though the owners are maximising profit while investing very little back into the property. Guests deserve safe, well-maintained rooms, especially at the prices charged for a 4-star hotel. I sincerely hope the owners invest in this beautiful building before someone is seriously injured. My experience of being trapped in the bathroom and the complete lack of support afterwards was unacceptable.

My third stay. Love this hotel and it will be my choise next time visiting London. A minus is that I couldn't get a beer or champagne as you earlier could get...

The junior suite is lovely and spacious with comfortable beds and a good shower There is air conditioning and I would recommend to use as at night can be really warm. The scones are delicious and the staff is great You can ask for water at any point during your stay
