The general manager was excellent and the food was superb. The only criticism is that the rooms and hall way could do with a revamp and the bar could have a better selection of ales. Apart from that it is a great historic pub in a good location. Super close to Hever Castle and other tourist sites.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Our evening meal on a Saturday was very enjoyable with a lady playing the piano. The traditional breakfast was perfect and cooked very well. The room was extremely disappointing. It was very tired and in urgent need of TLC. The pictures show worn and bumpy carpets and a damaged curtain. The corridor leading to our room was also very tired. This was in contrast to the restaurant which had charm and elegance.
