PARK HOUSE HOTEL

We stayed here last week for husbands birthday having visited back in 2019 we were so happy to return. The room was by the spa building and was lovely and clean. The outdoor pool is a great relaxing touch and the indoor pool is excellent. We were served a lovely man for tea and cake in the afternoon and then again for breakfast I wish I got his name but he was wonderful.

Park House Hotel is exceptional in every respect from the staff, food, rooms, beautiful grounds, outdoor pool, which was amazing in the hot weather, and great indoor leisure facilities. All the staff are amazing, giving effortless great service and all happy to chat and ask about your day. The food is exceptional with a good choice from the al a carte and all day menu. It also has a 6 hole par 3 golf course which is great for practicing your short game, plus tennis courts, bowls green and croquet lawn. This place is not cheap but is worth every penny.

A MISERABLE 3 DAY STAY ACCOMODATION ; Being handicapped and in considerable pain , I wrote to this hotel prior to booking stating this , and that I was 6 feet , six Inches tall with mobility problems ( which are degenerative ) and to make sure the room was appropriate As I did not want any mishaps on my final holiday ! I was allocated a second floor Loft room ( ROOM 12 - AVOID ! ) with restricted head height , a shower with sliding doors that don't open more than 3 feet ( THAT I COULD NOT GET INTO AT ALL ! ) . When I complained the Reception suggested that I walk half a mile to the swimming pool showers for a wash ?? With no privacy whatsoever . WHAT A JOKE !! I'M PAYING £400- PER NIGHT and.... FOR JUST B & B the safe is broken , the tea making facilities could not be reached , the low "old peoples home" armchairs" are worn and 80 years old ! There's no fridge , no mini bar , no air con , stained curtains and drapes etc.... YOU JUST CANNOT JUSTIFY THIS ! DINING DAY 1 ; FINE DINING Ordered lamb Sweetbread . a lump of fat and grizzle arrived . sent back . Inedible . Ordered Tuna as a replacement . Sent back . totally Raw and potential food poisoning . Dinner ruined . my son had ' Plaice which was swimming in grease ABD we were charged for this ! DAY 2 Had to revert to the all day menu . Ham sandwich . easy to make . NO CHANCE , completely wrong and inedible . DAY 3 . Now having to revert to the childrens menu to get something that could actually be eaten . which was fine but £30- per two courses ( FOR A KIDS MENU & PORTIONS ?? ) UNBELIVEABLE BUT ALL TRUE ! I complained and left a message for 'Stuart' the long standing , Operations Director , on departure and a week later he finally called me , illegally having intercepted my letter addressed Exclusively to the owner . He offered me a free overnight stay ! ARE YOU SERIOUS ? He knew full well that this was my last journey ever which was why he knew I couldn't accept this . He refused to offer any refund , even to recompense me for my son's meal on day 1 ! I PROMISE YOU THIS IS A FULL AND HONEST ACCOUNT and to Ignore any rubbish that is responded to . The setting and staff are really nice but the rest is absolutely disgraceful ! THINK TWICE !
