HOLIDAY INN

A professional team of Staff and a friendly and relaxed stay in a beautiful rural setting. Short walk from both a nice pub and restaurant, and good on site catering too. The room was spacious and very good value, but the positive attitude and attentiveness of the Team at reception was what set it apart from other Hotels. A very good experience, and I thoroughly recommend it for anyone travelling for Business. Staying here refreshed and recharged me, the Hotel and Village are very peaceful. Thankyou. The hotel as no restaurant, no alcohol licence, 3 adults in 1 room; had to ask for extra towels, cups. Came to breakfast, no one there apart from a family, they said go ask at reception, we did they said go back through someone will be there no one came. Back to reception asked for refund, oh no, operational manager came your breakfast is ready, we had not given our order in. STILL MASSIVE DAMAGE TO HOTEL. You can have a shish pipe but not get served. Do not go to this hotel because they do not care, they pretend to.

Having travelled up from the Midlands and visited under heartbreaking circumstances, we phoned to book 3 rooms for 1 night. We were quoted £85 for each room and this was reiterated a few times as this was for 2 double rooms and a room for 3 people. It was confirmed that this was the price. Upon arriving at the hotel (after a very distressful day), the man behind the desk wanted payment straight away so we obliged and were given our key cards. Whilst checking our online banking, we noticed that we had been charged £110 for each double room and £180 for the room for 3 people! I pointed this out to the man as these were not the prices we were quoted over the phone. He then became aggressive with us and told us he didn’t want to give us the rooms and we’ll get our money back (because we questioned him). The situation calmed down as we couldn’t possibly leave and find somewhere else so we let him have his say which we totally disagreed with. The hotel was in a poor state. Hardly any chairs to sit on, no food was being served, the bar wasn’t open so had to wait for him to finish on the desk so he could serve us a drink as he was the only person working and generally dirty. My brother couldn’t access his room with the card he was given so the man had to keep letting him in his room with his ‘master key’(after refusing my brother’s request to activate the card). There was only 1 towel for 2 people in his room and our 3 person room was set up for 2! Pretty shocking really considering the prices we were charged ) and that didn’t include breakfast). We asked if he could include it in the price and we were told yes but for only 3 of us? When questioned, he agreed for all 7 of our party. We had a very poor experience at this hotel. I’ve looked on Booking.com’s website today and the prices for the rooms are £50 and £43 so I would like someone )in authority) to explain to me why we were charged these ridiculously extortionate prices and how a member of your staff is able to treat your customers the way he did.
