The Wishing Well

Took my wife for a meal, food was so nice and great portions, very tasty indeed, a really nice pint of Guinness and staff very friendly definitely value for money, you won't be disappointed

Stayed one night at The Wishing Well. It is very appropriately priced for what you get, but don't let that deter you from staying over. In terms of view there's not much. In terms of location it's okay, in terms of rooms they're not huge. But for what you spend you get a good deal here. Everything is clean, staff are very friendly and the food is better than you think. Way out of league for this place. I've had the ale and beef pie, my company tried bangers and mash and lasagna. For £11 a plate or so we were fed like kings. Big portions and the food was very, very good. The clientele seems to be families on a trip to Yorkshire, you won't have a problem sleeping though. In short: rooms are clean and comfortable but nothing unexpected, good value. Food is exceptional, staff are very friendly and the location is reasonable. I'd stay again, and probably will next year.

As previous reviews have said, the hotel is in need of a refurb. However, despite the scuffs on the walls and worn furnishings, the hotel is kept very clean. The hotel bedrooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay, with no frills. We stayed for two nights and ate dinner one evening and breakfast both mornings. The food was very good with plenty of choice. All staff we met were very friendly and helpful.
