The Met Leeds

Great location, stylish, comfortable and friendly staff. What’s not to like!

The hotel is lovely and the refurbishment has made a big difference. We really enjoyed our stay, the breakfast was very nice and our room was lovely although the noise from street level very noisy at night (but not the hotels fault, we chose a hotel in the centre of Leeds!). We were in room 302 which was on a corner so had a double aspect window which was great. I agree with other comments about drawers as there aren't any which make putting clothes away difficult. The shower was amazing. There were a couple of things we didn't like. One was the presence of a large husky at breakfast. I don't mind dogs but I think having one in a food room (apart from service animals of course) is not very considerate to other guests. The person with the dog was allowed to hold on to it whilst serving herself food. A long haired animal was then at counter height at every food station. I spoke to reception and was told that it's up to the dining room staff and nothing to do with the reception staff. I think it's fine to allow animals but they should stay in their rooms. I don't have an allergy to dogs but I imagine others might and this could cause an issue. The other was that housekeeping didn't come round until 2.30pm on our second day. We had been out since 9am and had just come back and wanted to rest before getting ready for our concert. We were about to nap when they knocked so asked them not to bother. If we were there for longer it wouldn't have been an issue, but when it's the weekend it's good to come back to a fresh room in the afternoon. So a nice stay but for the money I think I'd probably book somewhere else as the service wasn't what I'd hoped for.

We had such a wonderful experience at The Met Hotel. The staff were absolutely brilliant from start to finish and went above and beyond to help us when, due to unforeseen circumstances, we were unable to drive home. Their kindness, understanding and willingness to help really meant so much to us, and they made a difficult situation so much easier. Nothing was too much trouble, and every member of staff we came across was friendly, caring and incredibly helpful. The food was also absolutely delicious, which made our stay even more enjoyable! A huge thank you to all the staff at The Met Hotel for going that extra mile and making us feel so looked after. We truly appreciate everything you did for us and would definitely recommend you to anyone
