The Tennants Arms

we have a motorhome so asked if they allow overnight parking if we ate in the pub, was told they did after some initial confusion. Arrived in the afternoon, pub didn't open till 4pm but that's about when we arrived. Introduced ourselves and parked up, went in and had drink then food. Staff super friendly, food very good and resonably priced, car park big enough for a couple of motorhomes and quiet, all in all, well worth a stop if you are that way.

We didn’t stay at the hotel but we were in the Air BnB next door a short walk away. It seems there’s been a bit of chequered history after opening just before Christmas then suffering an horrendous flood of the main water tank, taking out all the electricity. Recently opened its doors again and is trying to find its feet and back into the water and pecking order of a large selection of country pubs. 9 of us plus two dogs ate there on Sunday and the food was absolutely amazing. Not a huge choice but that’s good as the food that arrived was quality and good quantity. It was freshly cooked and good portions. The Mac and Cheese was a huge portion, so much one of the party had to leave what looked like a lot but they were full…great Sunday roast with a large choice of freshly prepared vegetables. The choice of drinks were slightly lacking, but the Ales and lager were good. Very nice to see Camden Eazy on, which isn’t seen in many pubs. The slight lack of Spirits was disappointing but there was just enough. Also I suppose getting back on their feet they did run out of some stuff. The quiz and Card game at the end of the night was good fun and a little twist for the normal night. All in all a very good meal and decent atmosphere for its location. As we are staying in Kilnsey for a week, this is our temporary local. We liked this pub so much that we've already booked to come back to Kilnsey in August. The staff are lovely, and the food was fabulous, a really nice atmosphere with views to die for. Will certainly return again...and again.
