Neeld Arms

Lovely village pub ,friendly staff . We stopped off for lunch table for 2inside Not the best table stuck in a corner but that typical for just 2 dining. The inside of the pub is very nice indeed though , anyway on to the food. My wife had the marquis roasted summer squash & smoked aubergine which she enjoyed , I went for the Cotswold lamb rump. That wasn’t the best very hard to cut and tough to eat , the wild mushrooms side polenta . Cider sauce , gremolate fine beans with toasted almonds was very good indeed , such a pity about the lamb . Next we went a pudding . My wife had the raspberry brûlée which she found rather disapointing , no nice snap to the brûlée and the texture wasn’t right , I went for the chocolate tort again not great , the pastry was nice but the chocolate was a hard slab , the ice cream helped but not great , , drinks 2 cider shandy’s and orange juice Total cost £75 .after driving past the neeld arms a couple of times and thinking what a lovely pub we were expecting better , not sure if we would go back , such a pity

Lovely little hotel/pub in the heart of the Cotswolds which we managed to book at the very last minute - late afternoon on the day of arrival and there were 3 of us. The room was lovely, clean and very original. The staff were amazing as was the evening meal in the pub downstairs. We were asked if we wanted to add breakfast for £13 per person but couldn't take advantage of this as we were leaving early and breakfast starts at 8am.

A really beautiful place to stay. Rooms are clean and very comfortable bed. Nicely decorated and lovely relaxing stay. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. And food in the restaurant very tasty. Only note- the rooms are incredible warm during the night - so perhaps an investment in fans would be great for the summer.
