We stayed at forest lodge 5 th until 8 th August The dinner menu was awful. Hardly anything on the menu. We had a £25 pp dinner allowance We had tagetelli and a vegetarian pie which had a meat gravy on it. It really wasn’t nice so we left most of it. Because we were still hungry we ordered cheese and biscuits and a dessert which would have taken us £2 over the allocated allowance which was fine but it never arrived , so after 40 mins we cancelled as we were meeting friends. I did tell reception about this and they offered me a complimentary drink. I had a Prosecco. When they sent the digital bill through they had the drink on the bill and the excess for the desserts which we never had. Unfortunately we won’t be returning. Have to say staff were really nice and very helpful. They need to sort the kitchen out and the menu

Had an amazing stay here last weekend! Our room was clean and beds comfy, in an ideal location to several pubs in walking distance and a short drive to the new forest and paultons Park. Manageress was really kind and helpful and gave us all the local hotspots! Will definitely return next year. Great value for money

On arrival the kay safe did not worked but we were grateful for the prompt response from the emergency number and helpfulness of the lady who assisted us. However, the bed/mattress on the left hand side of the room is not fit for purpose i could not sleep at all as springs/metal protruding up. The 'fan unit' was not 'fit for purpose' either being extremely noisy and not producing sufficent cold air. The shower was over the bath with a shower curtain and when pulled over did not provide sufficent light in shower. I would not recommend or stay here again it was chosen for being dog friendly and near Ferry terminal. I have contacted the Manager to express my concerns for future guests and seek compensation for the lack of sleep however they have refuted my claims, I pity the next person who stays in Room 1.
