The Poplars - B&B

A good welcome, excellent bedroom and en suite, breakfast with everything you might reasonably want, friendly hosts, off-street parking, small village location. Location ideal for visiting Salisbury (with its cathedral), Stonehenge, Old Sarum airfield, Porton Down (should you want to) etc. Highly recommended. A good tip - the Black Horse Inn just a minute's walk away - serves good beer and excellent evening meals. It also has a good 'buzz' about it.

Our stay at The Poplars was our first experience with an English B&B and was everything we wanted. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Maria's scrambled eggs are perfect! The Poplars is ideally situated as a base for exploring Salisbury and nearby sites.

Tucked away off the A338 at Winterbourne Earls this is a peaceful place to spend a night, or a few days. I'd prefer this over staying in Salisbury every time. My room is upstairs and well furnished, comfy double bed, clean with a good shower. There's a great pub 2 minutes walk away for dinner (the Black Horse). Since I had an early start can't comment on breakfast.
