A great local pub - have stayed here a couple of occasions to meet with friends. Very friendly staff and great food. Rooms very comfortable and clean.

The food was ok. Not outstanding by any means. Waited a long time for our first glass of wine. But we stayed there for two nights. After we agreed the price £75 / night for the room (breakfast extra at a whopping £25 each!) the owner warned us that a band would be playing the next night. She had a license to stay open until midnight apparently. But we were going out for the evening the next night so we weren’t too concerned. The rooms are immediately above the bar area, no insulation. The first night the bar was noisy but bearable until it became quiet at around 11.30 pm. The second night was horrendous. Punk Rock band played until midnight, but the partying continued with loud music until 1.30am. We phoned downstairs at 1.30 and they apologized and the music and partying stopped. The noise was unbearable. Don’t know how the neighbors tolerate it. It’s not legal for a pub to stay open that late. We warn you not to stay there.

Everything about this place Stinks!! We’re local to the pub and are yet to have a decent experience here. The pub is run down, the toilets stink, the attitude of the punters stinks and the prices are abysmal. Most recently being charged £16.20 for 2 single bottles of cheap cider. The new landlady’s got a cheek charging prices like that what a way to enter the village! There are much nicer local pubs to visit, The Prince Leonard in Upton Lovell being one! Avoid!!
