Stayed for the last night of our honeymoon and they had kindly left rose petals and a card in our room which the lovely receptionist showed us too personally. It was large with a sitting area, some homemade flapjacks, a very good selection of teas and a fridge with milk and waters. The bathroom had a shower and bath and a very good selection of quality toiletries. Had a wander around the grounds and then a late Sunday lunch in the restaurant. Started with a little amuse-bouche followed by some delicious homemade breads and butters. Then all three courses were fantastic with more then enough fresh vegetables (and extra gravy when requested!) Some lovely petit-fours finished it off perfectly. The room was very quiet (overlooking the fields at the back) and we slept perfectly. Breakfast included fruit salad, a very nice selection of pastries and a very well cooked full English. Our server was lovely. The only area for improvement I would mention is the room (Superior in the West Wing) was looking a little tired (the window frames rotting a bit which made it very hard to open some of the windows and keep them open!) But we had a great stay and would happily return!

Lovely setting, room (Superior) was mediocre. Arrived 15 minutes prior to 3pm and received frosty reception when I asked if we could check-in, suggested I go to the bar and return at 3pm. Customer service a little disappointing and was the reason I cancelled my plan to return the following week. Wouldn`t stay again.

We stayed at this lovely hotel on my son's birthday. We were greeted at reception by Marie, who was friendly, professional & helpful. She gave us a tour & showed us to our room. WOW, the bedroom was gorgeous with 3 windows overlooking the meadow. The bathroom was nearly as big with a deep bath, large shower & Temple Spa complimentary toiletries. There was a little fridge containing fresh milk, (which we have only ever seen in one other hotel) homemade cordial, water & a homemade flapjack. There was even a birthday card for my son, what a lovely touch. We had a fabulous dinner in the restaurant, the food was amazing & the service impecable. Breakfast next morning was superb & my son commented that it was the best breakfast he had tasted in a long time. Every member of staff we encountered were just lovely. My only regret was that we had to leave, the hotel & service is fabulous, will definitely be coming back. Thank you all.
