Llandudno Hostel

POSITIVES - Ideally located in in the centre of Llandudno. Most major tourist attractions are within walking distance, super close to the beach and town centre shops. - If you can find parking on the street, it's free with no time limit. - Rooms are basic, clean and what you expect in a hostel. NEGATIVES - The digital key system they use here is TERRIBLE. we couldn't even get in the place at first, it took about 4 tries to get the digital key to work. The app then told us we were in room "102" when we were actually in room 2 and guess what? The digital key hardly worked correctly again! We spent far too long messing about with a digital key - metal keys were invented for a reason! - We got no sleep at all on the night we were there. The walls and floors are paper thin and you can hear everything. The other guests just let there doors slam and you could hear this happening every five minutes. The room above us occupied 8 people who came back at 11.30pm and were having a party in their room. We had to go and ask them to be quiet and we could here them playing music and snorting cocaine in their room. The noise did not end until 2am and at 7am someone was stood in the main lounge talking loudly to someone on the phone. We left the hostel at 9am, very tired and ready to get some sleep! OVERALL If you want accommodation that you can turn a key, relax and get a good nights sleep, do not stay here. The Hostel really needs to get rid of their digital key system and actually be people facing, giving traditional keys and a warm smile. For the price, I'd rather pay a little more and find a B&B where we could actually sleep properly and feel welcome by the hosts. I would not stay again if you paid me.

Fantastic little hostel all round. It is excellent value considering how much the premier inn and similar is. Very lovely staff, very accommodating. It is also right in the centre of the town so very easy access. Highly recommend. They also do breakfast but we didn’t add that on

We were welcomed by a friendly owner. The mattresses were comfy and we slept well. We appreciated the individual bedside lamps, tea-making facilities, bible, clean en-suite. The location was super central and there was plenty free parking on the same road. It was quiet and felt safe to take children. No frills which is what we expect from a hostel. Thanks for having us!
