I don't know why they are even still advertising. Hotel BURNED to the ground several weeks ago.
Travelers affected are not getting any response from Motel 6 or hotel management. Corporate Motel 6 have been contacted. Say they can do nothing as this particular Motel 6 in Calera is privately owned. I believe IF I had my Name or business NAME on the Hotel I would try and resolve some issues with the calls they are receiving.
Management is refusing to return calls, has given NO HELP in resolving issues of even letting people get their clothes and personal items back and out of the few rooms that did not burn. I was staying there for extended amount of time due to business. I had to go purchase ALL of my work attire, expensive items used for specialized clothing needed for specific job related job. I have no idea when and IF I will get any of my personal items back. NO cooperation at all from hotel owner. PITIFUL way to treat your customers. I will probably have to drive across 2 states and just show up there, as my calls are not being returned.
My advice to Motel 6 Corporation......someone needs to help the travelers that were affected by this horrible fire.

The floors are the wood tile, not carpet. And it's got a flat screen TV. Those are the only positive comments I can make. The bed was so uncomfortable, the pillows went flat; I went to take a bath, but the shower wouldn't turn off. As the tub filled, the safety mat came loose, and I could see there was nasty, nasty stuff under the mat. So bad it made be gag. After my shower I felt I needed to be disinfected. The air conditioner did not work properly. It would run for a bit, then had to wiggle the knob for it to start again. After awhile it quit working altogether. We got the last room available, so we knew changing rooms was not an option. Finding another hotel was not an option either. This morning we went to the front desk to make them aware of the issues, and yes, complain about state of the room. He was less than concerned, pointed out the boxes of new air conditioners, and offered $20 off the cost of the room. We have never before had a bad stay at a Motel 6. They aren't fancy, but when just passing through, we don't need fancy, but clean and comfortable would have been nice. Not likely we'll pass this way again, but it we do, we certainly won't stay here.

Room door lock broken, toilet would not flush. Very bad odor in room. People smoking marijuana in the outside stairwells and pretty sure there was some type of prostitution going on as well. Awful. Went ahead and left around 10pm and found another hotel 2 exits down. Motel 6 is usually decent. This one is nasty.
