This place is disgracely. Our suite was disgusting. Vents were thick with dust and ceiling area covered in dust from vent in main lounge area. Bathroom was filthy and fridge freezer had some think stain stuck on surface. Seriously needs painting and both high stools in kitchen were both ready to break so couldnt use. Had used plastic gloves and used tissue on floor entrance to suite. Pool looks like it was never cleaned. Staff member when checking in was very rude and tried impersonating our accent in a rude way trying to entertain her colleague.

The staff were very nice but the room needs a lot of remodeling. Keep in mind that you may need to walk up a flight of stairs. My suite was set up with lots of space but it badly needs new carpet and extra cleaning of the walls etc. Not all outlets work and the closet door doesn’t slide due to rust or whatever. Some drapes were not hooked at the top. There was a hole in an interior bathroom wall near the floor (could see under the wallboard). There was an old wood maintenance door in the middle of the bathroom wall which seemed to have been painted over. It wasn’t the electrical fuse box. There was a small knob hole on this door with the knob missing, leaving an open hole. I didn’t see this until late and didn’t want to search for another hotel at night so I plugged it with a tissue. ‘Also didn’t notice the black spots on the shower tile until very late. I just didn’t use the shower. I was here on business for only one night, going home in the morning. The bed was comfortable and the coffeemaker worked. All this being said, I would report also that I’ve stayed in a different Sonesta Suites hotel in a different city that was fine. Next time in Montgomery I’ll pay the extra and stay downtown.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The room we were assigned looked like squatters had been living in it previously and it should have been condemned. I have never seen a room in a hotel establishment more grimey and in disrepair than this one. The front door alone was a warning sign of what was to come.
Walking into the room, we were hit with an overwhelming sense of filth and neglect. The vents were caked in grime and barely hanging onto the walls. Someone had stuffed paper into the smoke detector—probably to disable it as the smell of cigarettes was strong. The furniture was covered in sticky, unidentifiable substances, and hair was everywhere: on the chairs, the bed, and even the towels. Closet doors were missing entirely, and the kitchen cabinets that were still attached were barely hanging onto their hinges.
We immediately went to the front desk to request another room, and, unsurprisingly, another guest had also just requested a room change. We were given a different room, which, while better, was only a slight improvement. It was still filthy, and we were so uncomfortable that we refused to touch anything more than necessary. We didn’t even shower in the morning because the towels were so questionable.
This hotel should be shut down. I wouldn’t wish a stay here on my worst enemy. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere—anywhere—else to stay.
