I would expect a lot more for a university hotel. Walking up to the lobby all the carpets were dirty and uninviting. Once we got to the room it was clear that the windows had water damage and were not repaired properly. The bathroom was another story. The toilet paper holder was broken and instead of replacing it, they cheaply put a plastic extended paper holder on it. The bath tub was poorly refurbished. The towels were so rough that they were barely usable. The breakfast was one of the worst I’ve had at a hotel. The oatmeal was nothing but water and the eggs were inedible. Also the elevators went down the morning we were checking out.

The stay was OK until I found a sneak amount for parking on my credit card bill a month later! I didn't approve a parking fee and had no luck getting it refunded. Watch out for these sneaky people if you go to Troy

Katelyn, who checked us in, was very professional. Everything was downhill from there. The hallways leading to the rooms had limited lighting and were very dark and cavernous-looking. Hall wallpaper was stained or peeling. We also had issues with our room: - The toilet in the bathroom made so much noise you couldn’t hear yourself think - The shower / tub was filthy - not from loose dirt that you can wash away with water, but ground in dirt you need to scrub away with elbow grease and Comet. The front desk clerk that checked me out said all bathtubs were going to be refurbished as they were quite worn. I am not sure what being worn has to do with keeping the bathtub clean and free of dirt and grime. - The bathroom sink did not drain - The fruit and veggies we put in the refrigerator froze and had to be tossed - Lighting in room was not adequate enough for reading I have been a Hilton Honors member for decades and this was not at all what I expected from a Hilton property. It is time to take this hotel out of service and do a complete makeover before you have more unhappy customers. The following night we decided to stay at an IHG property. What a difference - compared to the Hampton, this was like the Ritz Carlton, and was less expensive.
