As far as dog friendly accommodations go, with reasonable pet fees and a major cuteness factor - Pines gets 5 stars from me and the pooches! Super adorable little inn with friendly staff, we stayed for 3 nights as we explored the area. The inn is comfy, unpretentious , focused on sustainability/environment and our room was very clean with all the necessities. All the furnishings were kept up and loved the photography in the room. Close to lots of services, many within walking distance we are happy we decided to stay at Pines vs in Sedona proper as it was affordable/not overpriced and a wonderful stay! Two items to point out for folks considering- no breakfast offered (never a big deal for us) and we did not get daily housekeeping services. Perhaps the latter is communicated somewhere but we never saw it.

During the weekend of September 15th, 2025 we decided to visit our fave towns of Clarkdale and Cottonwood. Since previously staying at the Pines Inn & Suites in a previous visit, we decided to stopover their again. Our two distinct visits could not have been so different in experiences. Although I do not hold management accountable for things that may not be under their control – I was expecting better. Having the opportunity to regularly stay over many accommodations across and occasionally outside the country, not a professional hotel reviewer by any means, and not a regular business traveler - but as a primarily pleasure and needs wanderer, I have developed as what I believe is my concise method for scoring the worthiness of each hotel visited. My criteria are as follows and the results are: 1) ease of access to and from public or private ground transportation [Score: 4.5 ]; 2) convenient and safe parking [Score : 3.5 ]; 3) access, accuracy and convenience of check in and check out [Score: 4.5 ]; 4) atmosphere, ambience, public facilities, lounging areas and access to an office center and Wi-Fi access [Score: 4.0 ]; 5) overall customer service - including but not limited to Hospitality, Support Services, Concierge knowledge, communication, attitude and demeanor of staff [Score: 4.0 ]; 6) quality, cleanliness, value, convenience, amenities (i.e., ironing board, iron, TV, charging access, phone, et.al.) and comfort of rooms, beds, room safe and/or valet services [Score: 3.5 ]; Taking all the aforementioned categories in a scale of 1 star to 5 stars with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best a hotel can be! This hotel rates a: 4.6. A well above average in our book! Most positive points at this hotel are: access to local activities, the downtown areas, overall cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere. Most negative points found here are: First: (and I must emphasize it was our second visit only) where someone in parking lot taking up 3 car spaces while fixing a vehicle up on jack stands during a full day, and late into the night. Second: Suite 106’s floor appears not to have been mopped in forever! And third: Noisy folks in floor above us seemed to be jumping around til well after midnight – not making for a relaxing sleep. Don’t get us wrong, we are still fans of the Pines. My price to value to overall assessment is good.

This is the second time I've stayed here, and it was just as good. No frills room, with comfy beds, and a decent sized little alcove with fridge and microwave. The pool is lovely if you want to swim after a day of exploring Red Rock Country. It's not very walkable to stuff due to the busy road at the bottom of the hill, but there are tons of food and beverage options super close. Randall's (across the street) was fantastic, and there's a Starbucks and Dunkin' about a block away. Safeway is right down the street, and it's easy access to downtown Cottonwood, Jerome and Sedona.
