Hualapai Lodge

This motel is expensive for what you expect from an upper class motel. It is not a good value. They do not honor change requests, even when the change is due to a rafting trip change. Note that the rafting trips are run by Grand Canyon West and the trips leave from Hualapai Lodge. However, the Lodge front desk says they are a different company or division. The room was OK, comfy bed, good A/C, micro, fridge. Plenty of ice. However, there was no coffee in the lobby, and the room coffee was the worst coffee I have ever had. Breakfast is NOT included, and costs another $15. The Grand Canyon Caverns Inn 10 minutes away is a much better value. Their dinners are very good, and breakfast is good. I booked a one-night stay at this hotel weeks in advance, only to face a legitimate family emergency that required me to shift my plans by two weeks. I reached out well within 48 hours of the original date (and days before the stay) with a simple, reasonable request: just move the reservation to the new dates. Not a cancellation. Not a refund. Just a date change for the exact same one-night stay. Their response? A flat refusal and an immediate full-charge cancellation penalty. No flexibility, no compassion, no willingness to work with a loyal customer dealing with an emergency. I explained the personal situation clearly, but it was like talking to a brick wall. Apparently, their rigid policy matters more than basic human decency or customer retention. This is not how you treat people in 2026. Hotels deal with date changes and emergencies constantly — especially for stays that are still days out. A little flexibility would have turned me into a repeat guest and earned glowing reviews. Instead, they’ve earned my eternal warning to anyone considering booking here: run the other way. Zero care for customer service. Zero regard for reviews. Zero flexibility. They’d rather pocket the full amount from someone in crisis than build any goodwill. Never again. Save yourself the headache and the money — this place doesn’t deserve your business. Avoid at all costs.

We stopped randomly at this place because it inspired us, and we were pleasantly satisfied. We ate their chicken drumsticks with extremely spicy Buffalo sauce along with exquisite zucchini chips.
