For context: As a former commuter to the DC area (for six years), I've usedpro Best Western for extended stays at a number of VA locations. Arrived for an overnight stay here en route to Wyoming--in the midst of an ongoing (and unannounced) hotel maintenance project. Weeds and high grasses around front parking area would have been a great snack for my horse (if I had one). Entered hotel and it was hot and humid with poor air circulation. Glass & brass had fingerprints and hand smears throughout (particularly both elevators). Carpets filthy in hallways. Toilet plunger leaning on guest door as we made our way to our room (and still there upon departure this morning). Entered room--air conditioning had been off for some time. It took over 90 minutes to get to where my wife (has COPD) could breath without difficulty to some degree. Linens did not appear fresh for one bed; tried calling front desk--phone doesn't work. Headboards on both beds were covered in hand smears and fingerprints. Staff was friendly and present for check-in; they brought a change of sheets for that questionable bed. Staff not familiar with register software or program (final bill was curious, to say the least. Hotel needs a lot of TLC and a major update/refurbishment (carpet, room wall paper, furnishings). Bathroom was worst, with equipment (particularly shower) from the early 1980s amid poor layout (door barely closes past toilet with only mm to spare. For elderly, high tub and lack of rubberized footing/mat is a recipe for disaster. Refurbishment strongly recommended--the sooner, the better. (Note: I booked online via Best Western. The accommodations looked nothing like those depicted). I would have to give this a strong do not recommend.

Need a place to stay with little kids to break up a trip to Indianapolis. We found Springhill suites in Peoria and thought it can’t be that bad because it’s a Marriott property. Boy were we wrong.
When we arrived we found out the pool was “down for maintenance”. In reading reviews it sounds like the pool has been down since at least January. We went to look at the pool to see what was going on. There were HVAC units being stored in the pool room and the lights were hanging out of their sockets in the pool itself. No mention of this was made when I called the hotel to make my reservation and discount was offered for the misleading information.
Upon entering the room you could tell it was very dated and lacked maintenance. My 1 year old son quickly found that the door stop was not secured to the floor and was found sitting with the door stop and a 4” screw after he pulled it out of the carpet.
The good about the hotel is it is near a lot of decently priced food options.
Time for bed, or so we thought. The beds are very hard, pillows too soft and sheets scratchy. This made for a short night.
In the morning we got up to find that the shower in our room was broke and we could not shower. Thankfully family was staying in an adjoining room so we could shower over there. We called the front desk and they said “we can give you 1500 points” uhh ok I guess. That does nothing for me since I still don’t have a working shower in my room. Also, how was the shower even cleaned when the shower was broken.
We headed down to a very limited breakfast. The highlight of the breakfast was the microwaved sausage patties that resembled hockey pucks.
My son had white socks on in our room for less than 2 hours. When we left the hotel the socks were so dirty from the floor in our room that we had to change them. The carpet is full of stains and there was no way housekeeping had done any floor cleaning in the room.
We made a list of issues during the stay and made contact with the front desk upon checkout. Sorry’s were given but they couldn’t not process any refunds as the GM had to review the issues first and they were not present at the hotel at 9:45am on a Friday. We pressed some more and were able to get an employee to process full refunds on both rooms.
Trust the reviews on here. Marriott has lost a customer over their blatant disregard for this property.

I stayed here most every week from mid-January through July. General Manager, Curt, and his staff couldn't be nicer. Finn on the evening shift was always extremely friendly and helpful, once even bringing in an external computer cd drive for me to borrow. Since I stayed so regularly, Curt and his assistant managers kindly got bananas for me each week. They did not keep them on the breakfast buffet since they would go bad so quickly.
The property is in need of dire love and attention. Like some of the other reviewers, I'm shocked that Marriott has not forced a remodel/update yet. The pool was out of commission the entire six months that I stayed at the property. They were also struggling with the one of the elevators constantly out of operation. There was one occasion where both elevators were inoperative one morning. For the last two months there was a sign in the lobby indicating that there was an impending update coming to the facility but nothing had occurred by July. Furniture is worn and in need of replacement. Many of the rooms that I stayed in had stains in the carpet but I know that Curt had had companies in working to clean them. The ownership group just needs to buck up and update the property so that the staff can be proud to work there.
Breakfast was good most of the time. They had pre-made egg frittata that was made with kale and swiss cheese that was always good. The preparation staff seemed to turn over a lot though. The last morning that I was there one of the warming burners was out so the food was in the process of being remade and there had been a cleanliness concern with the staff-member preparing the food.
