I decided to try this location of the Sparks Hilton and it was a mistake. I had a lot of issues with this visit and I will never say this location again! I don't ever stay at any other hotel other than Hilton because 99% of the time I always have the best experience at this hotel chain.
I wasn't greeted as a Hilton honors member or given any water bottles. After checking in, I asked for water and was directed to a picture to fill up my cup. The first thing I noticed, was the hotel was very creepy and oddly vacant. It reminded me the movie The shining and the Stanley hotel. I was literally afraid to be in the hallway and to turn my back in the hallway. When I got on the elevator to get to my room, it wouldn't close after I pushed the number for the floor. I had to push the button to close the doors numerous times before it would close. I was in the elevator for a good two to three minutes before the door actually closed and moved up to my floor. This happened every time that I came out of my room to go down to the lobby for a couple of different things. I had to go down to the lobby to get more water and while I was down there, I went to look to purchase a snack and the little "store" area of the lobby. There was hardly anything in stock. The shelves were almost completely empty.
My room had a weird smell in it and the worst part of all was my air conditioner was so loud with like a metal grate sound that I couldn't sleep at all. I had to turn it off just to hear the television and to try to sleep. I was up multiple times that night turning it on and off as my room heated up. When I was checking out, the elevator would not even close for me to get down to the lobby. I had to take the stairs! Honestly I was so tired and I didn't feel like packing up but my stuff to move to a different room so I didn't even bother asking for a different room.
I typically look at reviews before I stay at any hotel. This one I missed and I didn't kind of worry about it because I had stayed at the Sparks Hilton by the airport which is not great other than it being immaculately clean, but I didn't have any issues like I had at this location. If you're considering staying at one of the Sparks hotels in Tucson, stay at the one by the airport.

My mom and I needed a place to stay because I had a doctor's appointment the next day at Tucson Medical Center. First, I liked to read good reviews or negative reviews. I came across a Spark by Hilton Tucson Reid Park which used to be called the La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Tucson Reid Park.
I reached out to the General Manager Otton Suarez, he gave me a good deal which was not too bad since we were there for 1 night. Otton is a GREAT GM and he was able to accommodate my mom and I very well plus we were very flexible. Thank you, Otton for your great customer service!
I can't remember the young woman that checked me in on 03/18/2026, she was very nice, friendly, professional, and outgoing. My mom and I we loved the lobby since it was very spacious and comfortable, however, we were not too pleased that we had to pay a $75.00 incidental fee at check-in in case if we wanted to buy something from the market or damages with the room. The good news is that we didn't have any damages to the room and so that incidental fee was released at the time of check-out which was nice. My mom and I we have stayed at a lot of hotels in Tucson for example, Holiday Inn Express and since we are long-term guests there we never had to pay an incidental fee, it would be nice if the Spark by Hilton does the same. We understand that hotels do it differently.
We were in Room 206 and the cleanliness was marvelous i.e.: spacious rooms, comfy beds and an LG Flat-Screen TV with streaming capabilities. We definitely got a good night's rest and enjoyed the beds. The atmosphere was good. The location was pretty well since it was across the street we didn't like how we had to make a u-turn in front of the intersection.
The noise level was quiet and not too bad at all. Our room was right near the elevator which was nice! We really enjoyed the breakfast bagel bar which was nice! The breakfast attendant who was wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers hat was really helpful! Overall, my mom and I we really enjoyed our stay! Special shout-out to Otton Suarez who went above and beyond. We are looking forward to our next stay in the near future but please make sure to lower the incidental fee or not charge the incidental fee for long-term guests who frequently stay here a lot.
Thank you, Spark by Hilton Tucson Reid Park.

My go to hotel down the street had no rooms available so I thought I’d check the Spark out, this was my first stay at this lower end Hilton Brand. It was clean and brand new, however it felt like I was in an IKEA show room. Very cheap feel at $229 a night is way overpriced. Bagels and cereal for breakfast only. Probably would not stay with this brand again, it feels like the Super 8 of Hilton.
