We saw a UB40 concert there on Thursday night and we had seats close to the stage. I would given 5 stars if the seats were not so crammed together. No leg room because rows were also packed together so tightly. I saw many frustrated large people who could not even get down the very, very narrow rows to their seats so many people went to the general admission area even though they paid a premium price for seating. They must have felt scammed. Who is the idiot who designed the seating? I recommend general admission unless you want to be crammed against the people sitting next to you and you are okay with less legroom than a SW airlines flight. The seating area made for many unhappy attendees. The general admission area gave ample standing room and the tickets were half the price. Buying reserved seats was a rip off. We couldn’t sit in the seats anyway or we wouldn’t see the show because everyone was standing in front of their seats. Not only uncomfortable in the reserved seating area but quite dangerous too because rows were too narrow and crowded. General admission is the way to go. The cheaper general admission area was roomy and comfortable but the higher priced reserved seats were extremely crowded together and very uncomfortable.

The staff are great. But there are a few issues you need to consider…. One, there is no daily room cleaning, and in fact you cannot even get the bed made. This did not please us as far as spending $200 plus and having to make our own beds and to request additional coffee Supplys. The main hotel above the casino shares hallway ventilation, so outside your room can smell like cigarettes on a busy casino night. The hotel adds $80/night for “incidentals “. Quite the deposit for room vending displays….. The AC failed on our last day, so they moved us the “The Willow” hotel building next door. Excellent room, spacious and clean.

We stayed at Viejas for two nights and three days and would not recommend it. The biggest issue was the unexpected charges. We were initially charged the amount we agreed to for the room, but upon checkout, nearly $400 in additional “resort fees” were added. I reviewed my original booking estimate and could not find any indication that these charges would be applied. The lack of transparency felt very misleading. The resort amenities also did not justify the extra cost. The pool was fairly basic, the pool bar was never open during our stay, and the pool closed before sunset. For a property charging substantial resort fees, the experience fell far short of expectations. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with our stay and felt that the value did not match the price. There are many better options in the area, and unfortunately, we will not be returning.
