TownePlace Suites by Marriott Anaheim

Worst bed I’ve ever slept in. Old and run down. Wouldn’t stay again.

Updated review since my last stay here back in 2022! I was part of the residents affected by the chemical plant incident last week, and had to evacuate - so I figured I'd at least book a hotel that was close to work. Figured I'd revisit this spot since I had a pleasant stay a few years ago. I actually prefer staying in these extended-stay/apartment-style places whenever possible, since there is a bit more space to spread out and it usually comes with a kitchenette or full-sized kitchen (helps avoid eating out). I checked in a little after 4pm with Frankie, who was prompt and professional. I only had a short wait before my room was ready, but took the time to admire that they also renovated their lobby, and had more comfortable seating added if you wanted to work on your laptop outside your room. I had a 4th floor Studio Suite overlooking the parking lot in the Main building. This is preferred. You don't want a room on the side facing State College Blvd, since it'll definitely be noisier. There are train tracks that run alongside the hotel (I spotted the Pacific Surfliner every now and then) - but the noise is not that noticeable after awhile. Since I was only planning to stay until it was safe to head back home - I booked my visit for two nights, and settled on a Queen Studio Suite. It's plenty of space for 1 person, comfy enough for 2 people. Any more than two, you'll want to book their 1bdrm/2bdrm suites. If you want an idea of the space - check out my updated photos! The hotel was renovated back in 2025, I believe - I noticed a lot of the appliances were newer/modern - in addition to a comfy bed, a sofa with ottoman, work desk, there is a well equipped kitchenette. Full-size fridge that got cold pretty quickly (compared to the mini fridges some hotels offer), two-burner stovetop, microwave oven, sink and toaster. The room is stocked with bowls, cups, pots, pans, utensils - but I wasn't planning on cooking anything since there were decent food spots nearby. Wall unit AC was sufficient in keeping the room cool, wasn't too noisy - I appreciate the white noise it created during the evening. Breakfast was reasonable considering that it was complimentary. There was an oatmeal bar, hot foods consists of a egg/cheese omelette, sausage links, roasted potatoes. Coffee bar. An assortment of yogurts, toast, cereal, juice and milk cartons. If you wanted something more substantial, there is a Denny's, Starbucks, and Panera Bread in the same parking lot. There's also a Panda Express, Chipotle and Carl's Jr., Dave's Hot Chicken in the same lot as well. Decent sized pool, laundry on-site and a fitness room (that I didn't check out). Parking is in a private lot and well-lit - it was free back in 2022 when I last stayed, but its $15/night now =/. I think that's a more common practice that hotels are starting to charge for, sadly. =/ Towneplace Suites Anaheim is located within the Anaheim Resort area - there's a shuttle (paid) that takes you to Disneyland, and you're walking distance to Angel Stadium, which is across the street. The hotel is also minutes from the UCI Medical Center in Orange (10 minutes away). Overall, a solid stay. Towneplace Suites Anaheim is pretty competitive among other hotels in its class (Home2Suites, Sonesta ES, Staybridge Suites). It's definitely worth checking out if you want that extra space, or prefer to cook instead of dining out while on the road. Definitely provides more flexibility and amenities for long term stays than your typical hotel room. Marriott Bonvoy members get free wifi in-room and the ability to check-in via the mobile app. I always recommend people "book direct" through the hotels instead of 3rd party sites, since they seemingly treat you better, tend to give you more desirable rooms, and are more able to assist if something goes wrong with your reservation.

I had a wonderful stay at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Anaheim Maingate Near Angel Stadium. The room was very clean, and the front desk staff were incredibly helpful—they went above and beyond to make my stay even better than expected. The location is convenient and close to everything, which made getting around easy. I also appreciated having breakfast available before heading out each day. I would definitely stay here again! **Room service upon request on stays under 3 days
