Hotel Catalina

Awful experience. Got a queen bed only to find out it is the size of a full. When brought to managements attention they shrugged it off and said that it was “their” queen size standard for the property. So they have their own definition of a queen size bed…on top of that it was like sleeping on springs. The floor would have been more comfortable. We checked out early and Hotel Metropole saved the day!

This is an older, charming three story hotel; the friendly staff will carry your luggage upstairs if requested. The rooms are small but clean, and the outside balconies are great for the morning coffee or evening wine. The newer Vons is a 10 minute walk away. Unfortunately the hot tub was covered up. But we will be back!

Do NOT stay in cottage C. The staff live in a shack below and are very inconsiderate. The heater was broken and the noise from the staff quarters below kept me up until midnight. When I complained and checked out the next day I was assured my stay would be refunded and the second night cancelled. It was not. Woeful customer service.
