Carmel Resort Inn

The Shower wall was falling apart. Walls were super thin, could hear neighbors all night. Dirt under sinks. Tv was great.

I have stayed here for years. It was never nice but always cozy and pleasant. I liked that it was set aside so felt quiet and a bit like camping in the woods. When we had a small dog we needed a dog -friendly place and the property and surrounding blocks were perfect. Location is good, 20 minutes walk from downtown and a few minutes drive. So I booked it for my family, explaining that it was cozy and neat, if not nice. Well… NOT ANY MORE. Then property and cabin rooms are dilapidated. The furniture is filthy and skanky. Mattresses and bedding are tired at best. Nothing is properly maintained. The outside is rotting away. You can’t take a few steps around the property without seeing something trashy. From unpainted buildings to trash heaps. The woman who owns this property has other motels, and I think she is using this as a dumping ground. Wooden decks (the entrance to many of the cottage rooms) are in such disrepair as to be dangerous. I am heartbroken that this quirky, funky property has become such a mess. Never again Pay more or stay a bit further away

The only positive aspect is the location, easy to find and in Carmel. The rest does not deserve to be reminded. The complex is abandoned, composed by dilapidated cabins / barracks rent as luxury hotel. Cleaning is superficial at best, everything beyond sight is ignored by the cleaner. No breakfast options provided.
