L'Auberge Carmel

L'Auberge Carmel exceeded every expectation, and the fact that we could bring our dogs along made it unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the property felt warm and welcoming, and the staff treated our pups like honored guests. The location is unbeatable. We were steps from some of the best restaurants in town, many of which happily welcomed our dogs, and just a short stroll from Carmel's stunning white-sand beach where the dogs could run and play. Being able to walk everywhere with them made the whole trip feel effortless. We also managed to fit in some excellent golf and an afternoon of wine tasting, and remarkably, our dogs were welcome to join us for all of it. That kind of hospitality is rare and made the experience feel truly special. We didn't have time to visit the Michelin restaurant at the hotel, but heard nothing but great things and will make sure the next visit we can join. Carmel might just be the most dog-friendly city we have ever visited, and L'Auberge Carmel is the perfect home base for it. We cannot wait to return.

Absolutely loved this hotel. The staff was outstanding, the courtyard was beautiful and our room was generously sized and included an amazing soaking tub that was perfect.

Nicely redone - rooms and common areas beautifully designed. Beautiful court yard. However, we stayed on a Monday and Tuesday night. There is no restaurant or bar open those nights. This is an important part of high end luxury travel and we would not have stayed here had we known. Staff was efficient- it was odd to check in and have the front desk person hand us a list of “rules” we needed to follow. Maybe calling it a list of “helpful tips” would be more inviting. We spent our late afternoons and evenings at the nearby Cypress Inn. It has a lovely bar and atmosphere. Amazing staff and beautiful patio restaurant. For the price, this hotel does not measure up to others in this hotel group’s properties. It’s over priced and lacks the touches needed for luxury a luxury stay. We wouldn’t stay again or recommend.
