Sunset blvd room had a beautiful view, but be prepared for a noisy night, even on a high floor. Close to a Times Square experience but without great sound insulation from the street. The rooftop pool has gorgeous almost 360 view of Sunset and Hollywood Hills. Arrive early morning or late in the afternoon to grab one of their cool nested loungers. Great bartender service. Love the free snacks at reception. Biggest complaint was having to change rooms due to a leaky and rusty shower, that should not have been assigned to anyone without making proper repairs first, so that is a quality control issue. Fun vibe and location, would possibly give it another try.

I was really looking forward to staying here, but unfortunately the experience has been extremely disappointing. Our first room was not only in poor condition, but I considered it unsafe and unsuitable for guests. We immediately raised our concerns and requested a room change. After that, we ended up having to view/swap through five rooms before finding one that was acceptable. I spent 85 dollars at tj maxx on cleaning products and air fresheners in an attempt to make the room smell better. My sister and I spent an evening cleaning the room, its furnishings and the walls to eliminate the smell of cigarettes. Issues included broken blinds, a cold shower, missing headboards, poor maintenance and a general feeling that the rooms had not been properly checked before arrival. One of the most unacceptable issues was the condition of the bedding. The bed had visible stains that appeared to be male bodily fluid stains, which was completely unacceptable and very concerning from a hygiene perspective. We were unable to use the hotel pool as there were crowds of people smoking cannabis up there, the whole floor stank of drugs. For a hotel of this reputation and price point, the standard of accommodation was shocking. Guests should not have to repeatedly move rooms just to find somewhere that feels safe and has basic working facilities. The staff did try to assist with room changes, but all the rooms are of the same standard and the problems should never have occurred in the first place. Upon speaking to staff and managers we were not the only people to complain, and when describing the atmosphere at the roof top pool, the guy at reception agreed that it was like "a swingers club" Zoe a new manager was in our room for over an hour trying to assist in cleaning and making the room usable. Sadly, this has been one of the biggest disappointments of our trip and not the experience we expected from a hotel of this level. This hotel is a 2* at best, do not be fooled by the grand reception area as when you go beyond that and into the actual hotel it feels more like Alcatraz, gloomy dark corridors that smell of urine with HMP style grey doors. The immediate feeling upon walking into the room is one of a teenage boys bedroom, bright green/blue walls, dark brown wood effect furnishings, stained chairs, with basic to zero facilities. Even the bathroom feels like a prison. I would never cosider or recomend this hotel if you have children of any age. Do not stay here if you expect 4* accomodation, or anything that a Hyatt brand praises themselves on.

Breakfast staff great, front desk staff very friendly (by and large) - the hotel staff generally try to be very helpful. Breakfast for Globalist is wonderful. Clean in the middle of the action. Avoid lower level floor if you are sensitive to noise or use an ear plug
