The hotel is located at the end of the Laguna Beach. So if you want to walk to the main area, you need to walk 10 to 15 minutes. The rooms are very small and outdated with no soundproofing so you can hear everything from the room next-door and outside from the balcony or the pool. Definitely it does not worth the money. I had booked my reservation through American Express travel and had paid in advance for my stay. When I wanted to check out, there was nobody at the counter with the sign that said that they had gone for lunch and asked to leave the key on a basket. Later on when I checked the statement of my American Express I realized the hotel has also charged me for the room which has been fully paid. I contacted Hotel manager. He came up with multiple excuses that why it has happened and acknowledged their mistake for charging me. But he refused to return the money and came up with multiple other excuses that I need to escalate that to American Express and dispute the charge. I cannot believe that, despite the fact that he admitted to their mistake, he didn’t want to fix it and made me through to disputing process with American Express, which is taking about two months. I do not recommend this Hotel. The dishonesty that they showed to take advantage of people who may not checking their credit card statement and charging them twice. I do not believe that was a simple mistake specially when they refused to correct it. AVOID AT ALL COST.

We really enjoyed our stay at 14 West! The price point is very fair, especially for such a great location in Laguna Beach. One of my favorite things about Laguna is how walkable it is, and 14 West is definitely in a great spot for that. We loved being able to walk around town, and having Ralphs right across the street was surprisingly convenient for grabbing snacks, drinks, and little things for the room. Our stay was relaxing, the room was clean, and I have to give a special shoutout to the fridge—it’s a decent size and actually stays COLD, which definitely isn’t the case at every hotel! The pool area was great and a nice place to relax. My only minor complaint would be the towels. They could definitely use an upgrade. Overall, we felt like 14 West was a great value for Laguna Beach. Comfortable, clean, convenient, and in an excellent location. The staff was also amazing. Answered questions and were always helpful and cheerful without being fake. We’ll absolutely stay here again!

I'm sorry, but the 14 West Hotel needs a lot of help. The facility is in disrepair. The rooms are old and neglected. The bed is ancient. The door locking system is archaic. The front desk people were very nice.
