The room Was right on the beach which was nice but was very small. The room itself was decent enough but overall the place was dirty The pool and Spa area very dirty. No towels . No robe. No tables around pool area. everything was in need of repair. Elevators did not seem safe. Very overpriced. Chrystal in reception was wonderfull and teresa from ousekeeping also very sweet and accommodating.

Do not book here. It is not what it looks like in the photos! Walls are paper thin. After listening to the next door guests having sex we called the front desk. No refund. No changing our room.

We have been coming to the Pacific Edge hotel for decades due to large oceanfront rooms with large balconies over the sand. Although the hotel has been sold and is closing September 8, we booked 3 nights in early August. Our room, 131, is large and clean, although old of course. However this year, apparently the sand has eroded and they are unable to provide the beach amenities (umbrellas, lounges, even beach access). We were Not Informed of this issue prior to checking in. Apparently this has been the reality for at least a month. We have had our reservation for months and should have been informed of these limitations. I am elderly and enjoy being able to go down the hotel stairs to the beach (& not having to carry beach chairs etc), so this completely altered our vacation experience. In fact we were unable to access the beach at all, so even though the view from our balcony was spectacular, we were forced to remain “on ship” and view from above only. All the access staircases had yellow hazard tape across them. We were advised that this situation just occurred last Saturday, August 1. However other guests have reported the same situation for over a month. We should have been informed of this restriction before we made the trip to check in. The hotel grudgingly made a minimal accommodation for this serious restriction of our planned activity. We love this hotel, its location is perfect, the staff was accommodating, the hotel room old but clean. We had abundant hot water and efficient AC, good bed linens etc. So our final stay at the Pacific Edge Hotel was bitter sweet albeit a bit pricey considering the beach restrictions. Our family has many memories of this hotel, originally called Vacation Village, and understand the issues. But, the front desk staff, Vic, could be more empathetic, especially to us very old timers.
