Holiday Haus Motel

Very clean and comfortable, quiet, good beds, excellent shower and bath, fireplace, even a handcrafted rocker to sit by the fire and relax with a view. Very nice!

We spent a couple of nights here to explore Mammoth Lakes. First, finding the place was a little tricky because there was no big and clear sign from Main Street. We got a "suite", which was spacious. It had a king bed, TV, sofa, fridge and microwave. NOTE that there was no utensils, cutlery, plates, glasses. There was also no AC, no safe, no room cleaning and no breakfast included. The room was old and dated but if you're only there to sleep, I suppose it does the job. Frankly, I wouldn't stay here again.

There was no one. But like nobody. No customers. No one at the reception. No one. Everything was fine, huh? The rooms were good. The place too. But nobody. I wondered how not to feel alone with this lack of population. Actually the answer was there. In the name. Holiday haus After a quick search I found that “haus” means “drink” in Hmong, a South Asian language. Well, how can you not be alone, DRINKING. So I thought it was not very moral to suggest people drink. Then I thought it was better to drink and die of alcoholism in 30 years than from depression now.
