This is a historic hotel located perfectly in the valley and central to all the hikes. Unfortunately, the hotel is tired and worn down. The green spaces outside are bald with patches of dirt and no grass, the outdoor cushions are dirty and many chairs don't have cushions. The food was decent in the pub and I would skip the only formal and expensive prix fixed dinner.
We loved the park and hikes. If you stay here, do so knowing you are paying for the convenience of staying inside the park and not for a luxury experience. It's expensive and the value is about location and a step back in history, more than anything else.
