Mother Lode Lodge

We booked as a swimming pool was advertised. However, it has seasonal opening but the motel did not specify the dates of the pool opening. We had 2 days at 79 degrees and no pool to cool off, which was a great disappointment. We would not have booked this motel had we known. The staff were friendly and Mariposa was an interesting little town, although hot when we were there.

Definitely old motel with Psycho rooms. Very small room (for them it was a queen de luxe) with quite uncomfortable beds. Civil War-era air conditioner, very noisy at all options (you had to sleep with plugs in your ears). The bathroom and shower suitable for a person not taller than 1.40 and weighing 40 kg. For me being older it was inaccessible. The only positive note (given the heat) was the very old pool, but kept in a fairly decent way. Price obviously disproportionate to the offer ($324 two nights). They charge for the proximity of Yosemite Park.
