Breakers Motel Morro Bay

Great hotel in Morro Bay! I’ve stayed here each time I’ve been to Morro Bay. The rooms are nice and clean, staff is friendly, and the location is very convenient; just a block from the waterfront restaurants and shops.

The Landing is in a central, walkable location near shops and restaurants in downtown Morro Bay. Aside from the great location and friendly office staff, we did have a few challenges. The “new room” had mold on the bathroom wall. One night, a hotel employee refused to turn on the fire pit even though it was within the 6-8:45 fire pit window. Noise from delivery trucks and neighbors were troublesome for light sleepers.

Location is perfect if you want to be near the Embarcadero and/or dine at Dorn’s. It is a very short walk to see the adorable sleeping sea otters at the T-pier. I thought it was charming to hear the sea lions and gulls from this property. I felt it was worthwhile to get a room on the third floor because of the view. However, keep in mind that the water views are not private because people can walk right by and look into your window since it is a shared walkway. There is a parking lot, but the spaces are a little narrow, so we felt more comfortable parking on the street. There is no staff in the office onsite overnight. Our room was clean. It included a mini fridge and microwave. They offer pour-over coffee in the room. The third floor rooms have tall ceilings. The bathroom felt cramped and had basically no counter space. Despite this, I would stay there again.
