HAMPTON INN - SUITES SACRAMENT

I paid $187 for the room. That's totally inappropriate. The whole room smelled unpleasant and musty. One of two beds had wrinkled bedding and smelled unpleasant as if it had been used before. I had to switch to the other bed. In the bathroom there was a very loud ventilation, which could not be turned off and ran the entire night. Without earplugs it is impossible to sleep in this noise. Even though it was already 11 p.m., there was construction noise outside. The breakfast was qualitatively really a joke. the coffee tasted terrible and everything else was of frighteningly inferior quality. Only the bananas were edible. Although the ladies at the reception were friendly, the value for money is in no way right. While there is a free hotel shuttle from the airport, the driver was only exuberantly friendly to receive tips. All in all, a motel price for this room of about $60 would be reasonable. At least it's in a safe area, because otherwise that's not the case in Sacramento.

We have stayed here twice in the last week. It has been difficult to find a suitable hotel in the Sacramento area that checks all of our boxes. This one is one of the better ones. Especially we feel safe parking here. But one major problem with our last (second) stay was the king mattress was encased in a plastic zipper protector. The mattress pad and fitted sheet slid right off during the night. When I complained the next morning I was told that all beds would be this way in the future. There are mattress covers that are not krinkly and hot to sleep on, so I strongly suggest that Hampton find those. Otherwise, great stay, pleasant staff, big breakfast, all clean and comfortable throughout.

Clean room, safe area. The downside is the hot tub was COLD- colder than the pool. The front desk said they weren’t aware which while totally possible, it is just careless. Either earlier staff should have communicated this information or current staff should have done a walkthrough at the beginning of their shift. If I ever stay here again, I will definitely check that these things are working before checking in! Honestly, the hot tub is the reason that I booked here. I could’ve stayed at any hotel just as nice as this one, but they didn't have a hot tub. This one is a little out of the way and not as convenient as some others but because it had a hot tub I booked it.
