HAMPTON INN - SUITES SAN FRANC

An airport hotel. Our room was ok – a standard Hampton Inn with a nice little sitting area. The bathroom lights were a combo between motion detection and timers – weird. There were adequate towel bars/hooks and good counter space for toiletries, though the sink was oddly small. Water pressure could be better. Breakfast was fine – the usual Hampton Inn fare. The check-in lady was very nice and she deftly handled us plus a difficult guest at the same time. It was a good choice for an overnight.

I chose this hotel because I am a Hilton loyalist, and the proximity to the hotel, and the airport shuttle. My experience was more like 3-1/2 stars (“Good”) than 4 (Very Good) so I am being a bit generous with the 4 stars. One night stay for a layover. It’s a typical Hampton in terms of room (microwave, fridge, comfortable bed and pillows). The problem with my room was that the fridge made strange clicking and whining noises all night, and as is usually the case with those HVAC units mounted below the window, it was obnoxiously loud. So I did not sleep well. (I did mention it at check out and it was handled appropriately by the staff.) The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had at a Hampton. The hot food items were hot, well stocked, well cooked and tasted fresh, and the area was spotless, a rarity at a Hampton. Be aware that the airport shuttle’s last morning run is at 9:25 AM and then doesn’t resume again until 5:39 PM. Also, the frequency is roughly once an hour and it stops at two other hotels.

Stayed here for business when nearby hotels jacked their rates up for events in the city. Very clean room and bathroom has been updated. In response to other reviews, YES there are blackout curtains Behind the sheer curtains. Wall thermostat is not connected to the room heater/air conditioner. Rooms were very quiet. This is a 4 story hotel so not as busy/crazy as the Marriott across the street. Parking fees daily but I didn’t have a car. The airport shuttle is slower than nearby hotels as it also services 3 other hotels and this takes awhile before it shows up at the airport. I walked across the street to the Marriott one time as theirs runs every 10 mins or so. All in all a very nice stay and I prefer the slower pace over the Marriott across the street, which is very busy all of the time.
